Sweat it out: executing your training using Pillar
Here at Pillar. we're building the perfect training companion for your cycling. Whether it's learning, motivation, guidance or connection you need, we're making Pillar to answer it all.
Once you've signed up and picked your goal, you can start doing your training.
On the home screen, you'll be presented with a summary of your upcoming sessions. Click through each one to view the session details, including intervals and target power.
Select the 'export session' button to send the workout to your Garmin device. Right now, we don't support session export to platforms such as Zwift - but we're working on it! Watch this space.
You can complete your sessions by connecting your turbo trainer and heart rate monitor to your cycling watch or computer.
Your device will beep to alert you to each upcoming interval, and tell you if you're hitting the correct heart rate and power zones (providing the relevant monitors are connected).
You can also complete your session outdoors, on the road, if you prefer. This way is much harder to hit and stick to the relevant heart rate/power zones, and can be dangerous if you're planning a high intensity interval session.
Once you're finished, save your workout. Pillar will pull your session through either Garmin, Wahoo or Strava.
You'll see your workout in Pillar, usually within a few minutes. To see how you did compared to the plan, enter the 'calendar' tab and pair your activity with the planned session using the three dot icons.
